Cage trailer hire Perth: prices and what to check
Garden waste, a tip run, a house move. A cage trailer makes short work of all of them, and you don't need to own one. Here's what cage trailer hire costs on MarketHire right now, what to look at before you hire, and how pickup and the bond work.

The quick answer
Cage trailer hire is $50–$75/day on MarketHire right now. That range comes from the two cage trailers listed in Perth today. It's not a market average, and prices are set by each owner.
Cage trailers you can hire now
8x5 caged trailer, Welshpool $50/day, $100 bond. A tandem 8x5 cage trailer. The owner lists it for green waste, tip runs, moving house and market days, and notes you'll need a towbar and a working trailer plug on your vehicle. See the listing
10x5 cage trailer, Swan View $75/day, no bond. A larger 10x5 cage trailer in Perth's eastern suburbs. See the listing
Listings change as owners add, pause or update them, so check the listing for the current price before you request.
What to check before you hire
A few minutes of checking at pickup saves a lot of hassle later.
- Size against your load. An 8x5 and a 10x5 are both measured in feet, length by width. Think about what you're carrying: a few bags of green waste, a full garden clean-up, or a fridge and some boxes.
- Your vehicle. Make sure you have a towbar and that your trailer plug matches the trailer's. If you're not sure, ask the owner before you request.
- Tyres and lights. Have a look at the tyres, and check the indicators and brake lights work once it's hooked up.
- The cage and tailgate. Check the cage sides are solid and the tailgate opens, closes and latches properly.
- Condition photos. Take them at pickup and again at return (more on that below).
How pickup and bond work
Sending a request is free. The owner has 48 hours to accept, and you pay them in cash at pickup. Nothing is charged through MarketHire.
Once the owner accepts, their contact details appear on your booking, so you can sort out a time and place between you.
The bond. Owners can set a bond on each listing, and you'll see it on the listing before you request. The renter pays it directly to the owner at pickup, and the owner returns it when the item comes back in the same condition. Agree on how you'll handle it when you arrange pickup. MarketHire doesn't hold bonds.
Condition photos. Every booking has a place for condition photos at pickup and at return. Either of you can add them, you both see them, and once added they can't be edited or deleted. Take a few clear shots of each side, the tyres and the cage before you drive off, and again when you bring it back.
MarketHire doesn't insure items.
